Washington Bosc Pear
The Bosc Pear is a cultivar of the European Pear) grown in the northwestern US states in California Washington, Oregon, and in Europe, where it is sometimes called 'Kaiser' pear. Characteristic features are a long tapering neck and russeted skin.

It is called the "aristocrat of pears". Bosc Pears are an elegant variety, with distinctive characteristics that set them apart from other pears. Those who are familiar with Bosc Pear appreciate their crunchier; yet tender flesh and their sweet-spiced flavor.

Those who have not tried a Bosc Pear would most likely be surprised and pleased that the brown skin hides a delicious, spicy and firmer flesh.
